Check out Inis Meáin’s beautiful knitwear collection for Spring/Summer 2014 seen at Pitti Uomo. Tarlach de Blácam (sporting the knitted linen bow-tie) of Inis Meáin: « The flora of the island of Inis Meáin is always an inspiration when we prepare the Spring Collection and this year we used the works of Sarah Walker, an Irish painter from West Cork, as much of her art reflects the Aran wildflowers which are such an inspiration when we come to prepare the Spring/Summer collection. Linen performs totally differently from other fibres when dyed – it is the perfect cool fabric for Summer and I feel it is a big part of my Irish heritage. We showed some of Sarah’s paintings at the stand and they attracted a lot of attention ».
